We have some big news in Vermont!

Following Governor Phil Scott’s 2018 campaign promise to boost funding for Vermont’s child care programs, the governor reiterated his commitment in last week’s State Budget address, saying that he plans “to make it more accessible and affordable for low-income and working families, so that all kids have a chance to thrive.” And this week, the advocacy group Let’s Grow Kids and its legislative allies unveiled their own plan to greatly expand Vermont’s child care programs and help working parents, as well.

Vermont is lucky to have political leaders from all parties pushing to prioritize critical investments in child care and early learning as well as helping its working parents thrive. Now is the time to speak up and show our support for their work, so we can achieve meaningful change in 2019! 

Every dollar we invest in our little ones helps strengthen the economy for everyone. Yet far too many Vermont working families struggle to find access to high-quality, affordable child care for their kids. It’s time for the governor and the state legislature to work together to invest in our kids and families.

We need to show our lawmakers a huge amount of support for expanding child care for working families so they know this is a priority for us. If you live in Vermont, you can make your voice heard by sending a message to your lawmakers.
