This week, SCAN activists across the U.S. rallied for a week of action to urge Congress to increase funding for Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
Despite the overwhelming benefits that Head Start and Early Head Start provide, only a mere fraction of eligible children actually have access to quality programs. By asking Congress to increase funding for these vital programs, we can ensure that more kids living in poverty have the strong start in life they deserve.
To raise awareness for this critical issue, SCAN activists and partners:
- Shared a video that Save the Children trustee Jennifer Garner created in support of Head Start and Early Head Start;
- Visited Head Start and Early Head Start programs in their communities;
- Engaged in a Twitter chat around building #BrightFutures for children and
- Held parties and meet-ups to garner support.
