Wednesday Wisdom from Senator Chris Coons on the Reach Act

Every day, 16,000 kids from all over the world die from preventable illnesses such as diarrhea, malaria and malnutrition. However, thanks to U.S. leadership, we have reduced the number of deaths of mothers and children under the age of five worldwide by more than half since 1990. Yet, there’s still work that needs to be done to accomplish our goal of ending all preventable deaths across the world. Our allies in Congress have reintroduced the Reach Every Mother and Child Act (Reach Act), a bipartisan bill that would help save even more lives. The Reach Act would expand access to health care and treatments to reduce preventable maternal, newborn and child deaths around the world.
