Congress is facing another deadline to fund our government and the stakes are high. Once again, funding for vital early learning programs like Head Start and child care are at risk. At a time when young children all across America are living in poverty and missing out on quality early education, we can’t let this happen. When they are just two years old, kids from low-income families can be up to six months behind in language development. When kids start kindergarten so far behind, they often have a hard time catching up. Sadly, many never do. It’s critical that Congress hears from us and keeps their promise to invest in kids.
